Fallow Deer Hunts in Okeechobee, FL
Fallow deer (Cervus dama) are another very popular exotic animal to hunt. Fallow deer are native to Europe and come in a variety of colors – from white to dark chocolate and some carry rows of faded white spots. It is because of their coloring phases and their palmated antlers with numerous points, fallow deer are sought after for every hunter’s trophy room. An average weight for a three-year-old Fallow buck is approximately 200 lbs. Fallow deer make outstanding table fare.
Fallow deer are hard horned from September through April preferring thick wooded habitat. The most effective way to hunt Fallows for us here at Florida Hunting Adventures is from a tree stand over food sources such as food plots and acorns. Spot and stalk hunting are both extremely challenging.
