Blackbuck (antilope cervicapra) is a member of the antelope family. It is originally from India. This unique animal has a very distinctive style of running similar to the mule deer. They are considered to be one of the fastest animals in the world. The blackbuck table fare is very good.

Blackbuck antelope make a beautiful mount with dark horns averaging 18” in length. Their most common coat coloring is a white throat area and belly with a medium toned brown back and flanks. Usually the most dominant males will have dark brown black shoulders and back coloring.

Blackbucks prefer wide open spaces where visibility range is high. They have keen eyesight and an acute sense of smell.

The ideal time to hunt blackbuck antelope is early morning or right before dark in the evening using “spot and stalk” hunting method. This hunting method is very challenging.
